Keiken Japan Expo is a one-day convention which focuses on a full-blown experience of the Japanese culture within our own little country. Japan-lovers of all sorts and kinds are welcomed to join this cultural celebration. You don’t just ‘see’ what Japan has to offer, but you can ‘feel’ and ‘experience’ it to the maximum of given possibilities within The Netherlands.

We want you to indulge in the versatile culture of this beautiful country without even having to travel all the way to the far east. So join us in the metropolitan called Tokyo, recreated in the event hall of Expo Houten. Visit all popular districts within this charming city in just one day! Which district is your favorite? End your visit with a nice beer or some sake and be captivated by Japanese cuisine.

Asakusa

Japanese language, calligraphy, shrines, kimono’s, traditional board games. These are just a few facets that shape the traditional culture of Japan. Japan has a rich history and timeless traditions of which the beauty should be honored and shared. In district ‘ Asakusa - Culture & Travel’ we focus on many different conventional beauties. Anime & Manga, Maid cafés, electronic stores: pop culture to the maximum. In district ‘Akihabara - Tech & Pop Culture’ there will not only be the latest high tech electronica, but it will also make an otaku’s dream come true.

Location & hotels

In Houten, a picturesque town in the center of the Netherlands, lies a grand exhibition center called Expo Houten. Remaining in the top 5 of best locations regarding multiple events, the four halls yearly host several public and business expo’s. Keiken Japan Expo will have its first edition ever at this famous exhibition center. Expo Houten is conveniently located in the center of The Netherlands, and is easily accessible by public transport from Utrecht Centraal or Houten Station, as well as by car. Furthermore, there are 1650 parking spaces right in front of the expo. Still not in for a long trip? Take a look at all the nearby hotels!

Van Der Valk Hotel Houten is only 8 minutes away from the venue. Take bus 48 and exit at Houten, De Veste/De Slagen.
